Saturday, the day we get ready for...Someday?

I decided to do something special today here at Fitness Ridge, with it being Saturday and all. So, I went on an early morning hike, added more cardio...and then some more again. In reality, the only thing I have done, thus far, out of the ordinary is laundry and hung out at the pool a little longer than usual.

My thoughts have been with my very hard working, beautiful wife Rachel and all the tasks, duties and responsibilities she tends to while I am gone. How lucky I am to have such an amazing friend and partner in my life! I missed Weston's kindergarten graduation, but Rach was great to send me pictures. I've missed a couple of Bastian's baseball games but have loved hearing his view of how they went. I've missed Hayden's funny sense of humor and practical jokes and hanging out with Abby whether driving around listening to music or listening to her recap of the day at bedtime. I am grateful to know that they are only one week and a few hours away but most importantly, mine for eternity!

I've attached a few pictures from today's events with some explanation. I hope you enjoy! And, please feel free to send me a message or two, make a comment or ask a question. My mind does better when I'm too busy to think and I'm afraid idle time over the weekend will be a test.

This is me showing my musical abilities while playing a little concert at "Piano Rock" overlooking snow canyon. At one point, all wildlife, including the fowls of the air and all the creepy crawly desert things came into harmony one with another. I even heard the fishes and creatures of the sea became one with another although I cannot confirm since I am nowhere near an ocean.

The view from the top of one of the bluffs off the Hidden Pinyin trail hike this morning. This is the location of one of the multiple times I asked Rachel to marry me. She said no, at the time. Imagine what she almost missed out on...my blogging from the very location we began dating while attending fat camp 15 years later. How grateful I am she didn't see this one coming!

This is a picture of our breakfast Frittata. I didn't really know what a frittata was and so the new and more informed Rob did some research. It turns out, this particular version of frittata is found in the nether regions of Le Poo, France...it has an interesting smell.

This is today's menu. Some of you might be wondering how you might do living on a similar menu and calorie count which then makes me wonder why you're wondering? Perhaps you are wondering how certain you are about what you're eating now? I say stop wondering about those things in which you can not be certain-over a bowl of ice cream...

  5. Ahhh. It's good to see that losing the soft middle isn't making Rob lose his softer side. :) So special.

But really, Rob you are an inspiration to fat guys everywhere. I'm going to have to work hard to not get left in your dust. Keep up the hard work..
