Yet another busy day here at Fitness Ridge. My belly made some pretty funny noises during the hike this morning and caused me to wonder...when was the last time I had a hunger pain? Seriously, I can't honestly remember. However, I can name many a time that I decided to eat something because, I might get hungry?
I made a "fat joke" in one of my classes today. By the reaction I received, you would have thought I was the first one to let them know they had weight issues. So, I could tell right away by the looks of disgust and offense I would not be welcomed amongst the crying, blame your daddy "popular" group. But, as the room cleared, a few of "my own" people gathered around me for a good laugh. They're all good people, mainly business owners and sales execs with a good sense of humor, a common sense--reality based understanding of our "issue" and, a bit irreverent...I feel comfortable amongst my new friends. We get, we ate a bunch of crap for a long time and now we're paying the price. We also get, that with education, a plan and a good work ethic...we can get this fixed. In fact, in two days if I can take a common theme from lectures thus far...it's simply calories in and calories out and, the quality of the calories do matter.
Day 2 schedule:
- 6:30am--4.2 mile red rock hike (snow canyon, 1K foot ascend)
- 9:30am--Breakfast
- 10:15am--Nutrition topics lecture
- 11:15am--Free weights
- 12:35pm--Lunch
- 1:00pm--Calorie challenge exercise
- 1:30pm--cooking demo
- 2:30pm--cardio intervals
- 3:30pm--total toning
- 4:30pm--Deep water suspension
- 5:45pm--Dinner
- 6:15pm--Lecture, spending your calories wisely II
You mean to tell me that 1800 calories a day in chocolate and ice-cream does not a good diet make?
