It's tired and I'm getting late...

photo of the day: I took a little canoe ride but dropped my paddles and got stuck for a while. Luckily, I happen to have a sandwich in my swimsuit pocket...everything was fine.

I knew from the butt crack of dawn this was going to be a tough day. I don't physically hurt but, am simply fatigued in every way.

I started the day with a hike called, Pinnacle. The hike started on a combination of lava rock and sand and ascended about 300 feet over about a mile and a half. Then, we reached the base of the bluff and started our ascent of about 600 feet over about 1/2 mile to the point. It was very windy at the top with incredible views of all of snow canyon. It started to rain and sleet on the way down as we cut over on another trail that winded through the canyon back to our origination over a couple miles. In all, we hiked about 2 1/2 hours before we headed back for breakfast.

My favorite lecture of the day was the Emotional Eating Workshop. I think the reason why I liked it so much compared to the others is because of the person who delivered it. At one time she was a guest here at Fitness Ridge and has lost 80lbs, twice. She lost it her first time on fad diets and a second time, after gaining it all back, by learning correct principles and understanding that perfection is not obtainable and accountability is a must. She is now a "life coach" here at Fitness Ridge and really connects well with everyone. Her main message, in my mind, was: deprivation leads to rebellion. Deprive yourself from spending a buck or two, three weeks in a row, and you may buy a car the next--deprive yourself of a piece of bread for a couple days and it's very likely you'll take down a dozen donuts in one sitting the next.

I walked out of the last lecture, again. It's hard for me to take advice about getting fit and losing weight from a chick that's 5 foot nothing, 110 pounds and has zero personality. I will say this for her...she knows many, many big words and the rubber food she passes around is very cool.
